Who are we?

We are a group of undergraduate students studying Computer Science at Armstrong Atlantic State University. Led by Dr. Ashraf Saad we have been working as undergraduate research assistants since summer of 2008 to develop a reliable robotics platform for research purposes.

  My name is Gabriel Loewen and I was born in Mount Vernon, Wa but grew up in and around Bellingham, Wa until I ventured off to college. I became a student at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Fall of 2006 and began my academic career studying Electrical Engineering. In my sophomore year of college I decided to switch to Computer Science because it became apparent to me that computing was the area that I excelled in. Working with the CRIEP project has given me a broad set of research skills which have become very important in my pursuit of higher education.

  My name is James Weston and I am an Undergraduate student at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), in Savannah, Georgia. I am majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. In addition, I am also working as an Undergraduate Research Assistant to the AASU Computer Science department head, Dr. Ashraf Saad. Prior to becoming a full-time student at AASU, I was enlisted in the United States Army for four and a half years. As a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, I am constantly looking to expand my horizons and apply lessons learned from the past in my current, and future endeavors. I reside in Savannah, Georgia and am happily married to Amanda Weston. We have a wonderful daughter, Rowan Evangeline Weston.
